A friend and coworker sent me this awesome photo. This is a water bridge in Germany. It took six years to complete, cost 500 million Euros and spans 918 meters. The bridge crosses the river Elbe, joining what was East and West Germany. If you need proof that engineering can be cool, this is it (though the rest of it is pretty dorky).
